Happy Winter ya’ll! I was beginning to worry because it was feeling more like Cali or Miami weather here. Today, however, this was not the case. Temperatures dropped down into the forties and this is what I prefer. It can be quite challenging to bundle up during winter as a pregnant woman without spending a fortune. I am happy to announce that I have by partnered with Pink Blush Maternity  to bring you affordable options! Ladies, they have really cute maternity clothes!

I already own more than enough coats but none of them fit my baby bump. This presented a problem with Winter’s arrival. So I can’t tell you enough how grateful I am for this maternity boutique. While browsing through their maternity clothes I found this white tweed coat and immediately fell in love.  I am even more fortunate that it is something I can wear before and after pregnancy too.

I decided on a casual black & white look for the holidays and this coat brought my look into balance. I subtly added a touch of bling with my earrings! If you prefer to be less casual and more fancy check out Pink Blush’s maternity dresses! Did I forget to mention the best thing about this online boutique? Oh, well I apologize. Are you ready? They are not a maternity only boutique so for all of my non preggo readers out there I still have your back! Go on be excited now that you know you can check them out too.

Mini Me Monday in PJs

Pajamas: Target

Happy Monday! This is probably one of the best Mondays of the year for everyone. I say this because it is so close to Christmas and that usually means that the work week is shortened, I hope. Today is definitely a good Monday for me due to the fact that it is prayerfully my LAST day on bed rest. As of tomorrow I will hopefully be taken of the meds and be able to get out! I have spent the last two and half weeks confined to the comfort of my bed or couch. The most challenging part of this ordeal has been taking care of my baby girl, Lyianna. I have missed running around and being more hands on with her especially knowing these are our last few weeks with just her. However, my sweet girl sure has helped me make the most of it. She has turned boring bed rest into giggle filled pajama parties! We pretty much live in this matching set of ours. Although I couldn’t convince my husband to join in on the matching of pajamas Lyianna found one for baby. These matching pajamas are part of a family Christmas set that is still available here.

Happy Holidays,

Sunday in Houndstooth

Sunglasses: Aldo / Cape: Nordstrom Rack / Maternity tank & Leggings: Target / Purse: Michael Khors / Boots: Hunter

Happy Sunday! I typically wear a dress for church. Today I was in need of a more comfortable ensemble. I was quite cozy in this houndstooth patterned cape, legging and boots. Capes and ponchos have been great during my pregnancy. They are simple and quick solutions for a sophisticated look without trying to hard. Dressing the bump is already challenging enough anyways right?

The most beneficial part about a cape is that it keeps you comfortable despite temperature changes. Anyone else get warm quickly because of the extra weight during pregnancy? Yeah, me too but with winter just a few days away I am beginning to get cold. The cape is a great transitional piece from Fall to Winter (even Winter to Spring) because it allows you the freedom to feel fresh air but warms you up just enough. As you can see from the pictures this was the case when my husband took me for a break of fresh air out on the docks.

Happy week of Christmas!

p.s. I’m even thinking capes will be great as nursing covers. I will let you know soon enough!

Wrapped up Blessings

Tree, Ornaments & Gift tags: Target / Wrapping paper & Tree skirt: Marshalls

Happy Holidays! I am ecstatic that we are so close to a day full of love and blessings. It is so much fun to bless others but especially my little family! We have a yearly tradition to venture out in the wee hours of the morning and brave the crazy crowds of Black Friday. We continue on into the weekend and make all of our Christmas purchases. This year that was not the case. We didn’t make it past Black Friday because pre term labor happened. The next thing you know I was stuck at home. From shopping online to decorating the tree to wrapping our gifts we have done everything at the last-minute! As I am writing this we are still praying and hoping a few online orders arrive by Christmas Eve ….yikes! Despite our tardiness Christmas morning will be a success since we have what matters most, each other and the gift of Jesus.

The day after Christmas we decide on the next year’s theme. We then go and spend a few days shopping all the marked down Christmas decor and items. We have saved so much money this way. Last year we decided on a white and gold theme. We hunted down our white tree and then the gold accents ranging from ornaments to wrapping paper. Wrapping gifts is one of my favorite thing to do during the holidays. I find that Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Ross and Home Goods have the most stylish wrapping paper and this paper is the best yet. Oh, did I mention that each roll only cost 50 cents on clearance? You are welcome.

Enjoy shopping and decorating!

In bed with PINK

Sweater: PINK / Maternity Leggings: Target

So I thought today would be the day that I would be set free from this pre-term labor/ bed rest situation and I was wrong. I have to go a few more days on the meds and in bed. I can do this! I have already come so far and baby is doing well. Me? Well I definitely have had my crazy, scary and painful moments. Overall, I have maintained a positive attitude and take it one deep breadth at a time. Staying in pajamas all day, laughing at my husbands constant teasing of my belly size, eating ice, Netflix, and reading has helped me through the hours I am awake. My favorite Netflix binge has been NCIS. Movies? I must proudly say that I have for the first time begun watching the Star Wars movies. I should be ready in time for the new movie and my husband can sit confidently next to me, yay!

Lisa Bevere’s book Lioness Arising has been my favorite read besides the Bible. It is the second time I have read it and this time has had more meaning then the first. In fact, you all should read this book, it is so empowering and can actually be purchased for half off here. It would make a great Christmas gift for the special women in your life.

Christmas couldn’t come any sooner but at the same time I hope the next week goes by slowly because I am starting to enjoy the spirit of the season, even if I am in pajamas and bed all day long. Oh and this sweatshirt by PINK (similar here) has been my favorite. It is actually an oversized style not maternity but worked for me well into my 9th month of pregnancy. So if you want to save a little money try the oversized styles of clothing you can wear before pregnancy because they can very well work during pregnancy!

Happy Holidays,

IMG_1057IMG_1047IMG_1031I have loved every sacred moment that God has blessed me with our first child and I can only imagine how much fuller life will be with our second. The road leading here has been long suffering but worth it. From the first moment we saw the positive test, first heart beat, healthy growth and now this photographic memory has been nothing but hopeful joy.

I saw this elegant dress and fell in love with it. I took the chance of ordering it online while praying that it would fit because it is not a maternity dress. Thank you Lord, it did!

One of the couple times I feel most beautiful is when expecting and there has been no greater expectation than that of motherhood.

Over the Knee

Hat: World Market / Sunglasses & Clutch: Aldo / Dress: Nordstrom Rack / Boots: Macys (Nine West) / Lip Color: Stilleto Red by Too Faced

Happy Sunday ya’ll!  Today’s sermon was two fold for me. I was reminded that as I have been dressing up, lighting up and waiting up for my new bundle of joy, I am to continue doing the same for Jesus! I love when there is confirmation for anything I have been doing in my life but especially when it comes to fashion and Jesus!

Although I am now bed ridden and will be spending all my time in pajamas I can look back to say that I truly enjoyed dressing the bump while I could. Some days, like this one, I felt more fabulous than others so it was my inspiration to go all out. I am so glad I did because I had no idea this would be my last day enjoying pregnancy in heels while out on the town. Despite the battle of getting these over the knee boots zipped up they have been my “go to” pair for dressed up looks. I chose not to pair flats for this ensemble because the heels are not too high and not too low, just right …. right?

God bless,

P.S. I linked a similar suede pair of over the knee boots in the nine west link above!

Helllloooo. Once again I have been MIA for far too long. I have been so busy since the summer with moving and adjusting to the new adventures of our life. There is also the obvious, pregnancy. I apologize for not keeping everyone in the loop during my first, second and shoot even most of my third trimester. I will do my best to catch ya’ll up. Don’t worry  you haven’t missed much and I’m still strutting around in heels unless I am forced by the husband to wear flats. Therefore, you will see most of my looks with heels and flats. I got the “mommy to be” covered! Here is a simple and casual look that I wore while nest shopping this week, enjoy!
